It is a product that originated in the backrooms of pharmacies and "colonial shops" between the late 1800s and early 1900s, probably inspired by an ancient habit of using spiced wine as a remedy for mild ailments. The idea of transforming a noble wine like Barolo into an herbal treatment is credited to a pharmacist from Monforte: Dr. Giuseppe Cappellano.

Barolo DOCG wine, sugar, alcohol, aromatic herbs, and spices in infusion. The Barolo is blended with various spices according to a secret recipe and left to infuse. After bottling, it rests in the bottle before being released for sale. Since it is not subjected to clarification, sediments may form during its time in the bottle.

Garnet red with elegant orange reflections. Intense, complex, and very persistent aroma, typically spiced with notes of aromatic herbs. The scents of bitter orange and coriander are particularly noticeable. The taste is full, pleasantly sweet, with a long, slightly bitter finish.

Serve at a temperature of 16-18°C.

After a meal, as a digestif, excellent for pairing with dark chocolate.
